This school district included buildings in three small southeast Kansas towns. Each building had a unique history of damage from lightning and many had multiple utility services. The infrastructure was old with hard-to-access electrical panels, questionable grounding, and a lack of documentation.
The district experienced reoccurring damage to electronics due to electrical storm transients. CBG Technology was contacted through our partner GreenBush Education Service Center. We conducted walk-throughs and surveys on each campus, created the necessary documentation, and made a recommendation.
The project moved forward. We recommended some modifications to the grounding system. Then, a combination of uninterruptable power supplies and surge protective devices were installed at each location. Problem solved!
