This food packaging facility includes process packaging and a laboratory for food scientists. The project was to identify the root cause of an intermittent problem. The laboratory rooftop HVAC system kept shutting down, requiring manual restarts.
During the site survey, we isolated the 408-volt distribution panel serving the rooftop unit and identified the system’s 120V control voltage. We installed just two surge protective devices with tight EMI/FRI filtering – one at the distribution panel and one at the electrical controls serving the machines logic. This minor change made all the difference.
